New communication technologies and virtual space have expanded so much that young age groups are also involved in it and are considered as its users. In this study, the way children are exposed to the Internet and the type of its use is discussed. This study was carried out by a survey method and with a questionnaire tool, and it looked at different aspects of the use of the Internet by children. The findings of this study showed that 22.4% of children and teenagers said that they have no sense of security on the Internet, and 42.5% of them have a low sense of security. On the other hand, 33.4 percent feel very or very safe.
56.4 percent of children and teenagers who use the Internet said that they use their personal profiles. On the other hand, 42% do not have a personal profile. According to the results of statistical tests, boys (59.9 percent), more than girls (54.7 percent), adolescents aged 13 to 17 years (59.4 percent), more than children aged 9 to 12 years (55.7 percent), as well as children and adolescents living in urban areas ( 59.3 percent), more than their peers in rural areas (50.1 percent) have a personal profile.16 percent of children and teenagers who use the Internet do not know what the Instagram blocking button is, and 39.1 percent have used this option. 23.2% do not know about the report option on Instagram and 23% have used this option. According to the findings of the present study, it is very necessary to pay attention to the education and upbringing of children in the field of the correct use of the Internet both by families and by educational and educational institutions.
